Whitton and her 30-year relationship with Margaret Grier in a time when same-sex relationships

were illegal in Canada. Based on Charlotte Whitton’s personal archives that she left to The National

Archives of Canada opened 25 years after her death. Molly’s Veil premiered at Prairie Theatre

Exchange in 2005 and has received subsequent productions at Western Canada Theatre Company,

Festival Antigonish, The Ottawa Little Theatre and The Curtain Club, Toronto.
